Angel Tree – Toys for Kids
November 10 - December 14
Pick-up an Angel Tree tag at the Sierra 2 Center beginning November 10th and fulfill the wish of a child in our community. Angel Tree matches donors with children from qualified families.
ABC10 has partnered with The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program to help make the season bright for families in need. In 2016, The Angel Tree Program assisted more than 9,000 families and 21,000 children in our community providing gifts or new clothes and coats during the holiday season! The need is expected to be even greater this holiday season.
It’s not too late to make a difference in the life of a child.
The deadline is December 14th and the process is simple.
Donors can visit the Sierra 2 Center to select a tag that represents an individual child from the tree in the lobby. Tags include the name of the child, age, toy preference and clothing sizes. Donors can provide as little or as much from the tag as they are able. All gifts will go to that individual child. Participants then register their tag on the form provided near the tree, take the tag with them shopping and return items unwrapped with the tag to the Sierra 2 office Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. If necessary the office can reserve a tag over the phone and provide information needed to submit with the gifts upon drop off.
SCNA and the Sierra 2 Center takes pride in giving back to the community both locally and throughout Sacramento County in many ways. In addition to serving the children in need, Sierra 2 staff will tell you, watching the thrill of children and grandchildren dropping off their gifts, and the generosity and kindness it instills in their young hearts embodies the best of what life in Curtis Park has to offer.
This year the need is even higher and the goal for Sierra 2 is adopt 200 children.
