Chocolate Tasting w/ Le Grand Confectionary

Chocolate can be traced back to the ancient Mayans and throughout much of history, chocolate was a revered but bitter beverage and not a sweet, edible treat. In this 1.5 hour class, attendees will learn about the history of chocolate, where it is grown, and the process for making chocolate. Additionally, attendees will learn the technique of tasting white, milk, and dark chocolates and find the unique flavor notes for each type.
Come learn and taste great chocolate! All attendees will receive a small bag of chocolate treats for them to take home.
About the Instructor:
Carol and her husband Dean own and operate the Le Grand Confectionary Retail store located at 2580 Fair Oaks Blvd. in Sacramento and it has been in operation for over 6 years. Carol’s family has been in the chocolate and confectionary business since the late 1980s when the first Le Grand Confectionary retail store opened on J Street near the Sacramento Convention Center. Le Grand Confectionary is well known for its signature product, the chocolate truffle, which wraps creamy French-inspired ganache with dark, milk, and white Belgian chocolate each with its own handmade decorative topping. Carol creates handmade chocolate items for her retail store including her especially bark; nut and fruit medley, holiday chocolate molds, chocolate cornucopias, and baskets.
