While considered one of the most sophisticated of dances today, the Waltz was thought to be quite scandalous when it was first danced in the middle of the Eighteenth Century. For a time, it was even banned by Papal Decree! Fortunately for us, the Waltz survived to be one of the oldest ballroom dances today. The movement of the waltz is slow and gliding and it is danced to some of the most beautiful music.
This class will include 1 hour of instruction with 30 minutes of free dance to practice your newly learned moves!
What to Wear: Dress comfortably for movement. Please no flip-flops (footwear should stay on the foot.)
About the Instructor:
Barnaly Pande teaches a range of different dance styles, though her passion is for the elegant ballroom and energetic Latin American dances (think: Dancing With The Stars.) She loves teaching people to dance for the first time but some of her own students have, like her, gone on to achieve national titles.
