Petrovich contributions refunded

The campaign of District 5 City Council candidate Tamika L’Ecluse received contributions of $1,650 each on April 19 from real estate developer Paul Petrovich and Cheryl Petrovich but refunded the entire contributions the following day, according to city election records.

The Curtis Park community newspaper Viewpoint reported the contributions in its May issue based on campaign reports through April 20. A campaign report of the refunds was not filed with the city until April 26, after Viewpoint’s May issue had been printed.

As of the end of April, the L’Ecluse campaign had reported total contributions this calendar year of $25,390, compared with $51,025 for incumbent Councilmember Jay Schenirer and $420 for candidate Joseph Barry.

The three candidates for the District 5 council seat will appear at a candidates forum in Curtis Hall at the Sierra 2 Center at 6:30 p.m. May 9.

Vote-by-mail ballots will be sent to all voters in Sacramento County on May 7. Votes may be cast by depositing ballots in drop boxes beginning May 8, in vote centers beginning May 26, or by mail if postmarked by June 5.
