It's spring and time for kids to find eggs

Ready, set, go! Mark your calendar for SCNA's annual Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, rain or shine. This community event will begin at 8:30 a.m. sharp with a pajama parade starting at the north end of Curtis Park. Children are encouraged to join their parents in a festive walk to the Sierra 2 Center. All children must be escorted by an adult.

For those not awake quite so early, a variety of craft activities will be available at Sierra 2 (in Curtis Hall) from 9-10 a.m. Children can bring their own baskets or make a decorative bag to collect their goodies in. This year 2,000 candy-filled eggs will be hidden on the grounds of Sierra 2.

The egg hunt begins sharply at 10 a.m. This is definitely not a "come fashionably late" event. Eggs go extremely fast and disappointed children are a sad sight.

Children will be able to hunt for eggs in two separate groups. Kids three and under will hunt in the Curtis Hall courtyard while the older children will scout for eggs on the Sierra 2 front lawn.

Be sure to be on the lookout for the Easter Bunny who is giving away a special treat this year, thanks to bunny assistant and Curtis Park neighbor, Larry Easterling.

Also this year, neighbor and owner of Eleakis Photography is offering photos with the Easter Bunny and other candid shots free of charge.
