Have you ever had your home, car or garage broken into? Have you witnessed vandalism in our neighborhood? Would you like to get answers on how you can better protect your family, home, vehicle and neighborhood? If so, be sure to attend SCNA's crime prevention meeting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 in Curtis Hall.

After hearing Acting Captain Jackie Dowden and other Police Officers speak at the SCNA's November Crime Forum, the SCNA Neighborhood Concerns Committee invited Katherine Hallmark from the Crime Prevention Unit of the Sacramento Police Department to share with residents of Curtis Park concrete actions that can be taken to keep our neighborhood safe.

Katherine Hallmark will talk specifically about the Neighborhood Watch and Operation Identification programs. She will also discuss personal safety, practical safety tips every resident can take to make their homes and vehicles less vulnerable to crime, and how to report suspicious activities.

The Neighborhood Watch program encourages neighbor involvement. The theory is based on proven experience that the more eyes there are on the streets, the safer the streets will be.

Invest the small amount of time it will take to attend the crime prevention meeting and learn ways to keep your family, home, vehicles and neighborhood safer.

If you are interested in getting involved in the Neighborhood Watch program or attending this meeting, please call SCNA board member, Stephanie Backovich at (916) 475-7777. By doing so, you'll get a personal reminder of the meeting and periodic updates of the Neighborhood Watch program.
