This year the Curtis Park Home & Garden Tour coincided with the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Curtis Oaks subdivision in 1907. In commemoration, the SCNA Heritage Committee created a special slide show, exhibits and materials about the history of the subdivision, which spans Portola Way to Donner Way from 24th Street to Franklin Boulevard.

Heritage Committee members Lynda White, Anne Mazur and Erik Fay crewed display tables on Montgomery Way during the tour. They were joined by committee member and president of the Sacramento Bungalow Heritage Association, Diane Ayers, who with Amanda Blosser and Beth Hendrickson staffed the adjacent Bungalow Heritage table.

A handsome self-guided walking tour map of this streetcar bungalow subdivision was created by Janice Calpo and Bungalow Heritage member Anne Fenkner, with help from Susan MacCulloch. The map, quantities limited, is available at the Sierra 2 office and, quantities unlimited, through the history page.

Also available through the website are posters of the full-page newspaper ads for Curtis Oaks lots from 1907. These were displayed at the heritage exhibit on tour day and can be ordered for $10 per copy, which includes local delivery.

The last Curtis Oaks history item posted on the SCNA website is the slide show with history photos and information about the opening of the development.
