Blooming flowers in traffic islands courtesy of Fifth Street neighbors
A special thanks to neighbors Victoria Star and Michael Robinson of Fifth Avenue, who took it upon themselves to plant flowers in the new traffic islands at the head of Curtis Park and on each end of Fifth Avenue just in time for last month's Home Tour. Their efforts helped beautify Curtis Park for Home Tour visitors to our neighborhood. Victoria is on the Traffic Calming Committee. She is in charge of planting and maintenance of the islands, but at this point, the city has not released any money to purchase plants. Victoria and Michael purchased the plants with their own money and hope to be reimbursed by the city.
