Book Club Special Guest
The Senior Center Book Club will be reading "True Gold" during
the month of October in order to prepare for a special presentation by
the author, Greg Velm, at the meeting from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. on Nov.
12th. "True Gold" is an adventurous account of the settlers
in Sacramento and their rush for riches. Books may be purchased through
the Senior Center.
Caring Neighbors Host Fling
Volunteers sporting their new "Caring Neighbors" t-shirts will
be hosting the First Friday Fling on Oct. 5th from 6-9 p.m. If you know
a senior in your block that hasn't attended a First Friday yet, why not
bring them along to meet some of the neighborhood volunteers? Folks will
be able to sign up for the caring neighbors program as volunteers or seniors
wanting some assistance.
Bereavement and Loss Group
The Senior Center will host a six week Bereavement and Loss group on Tuesdays
starting Oct. 16th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The group will be conducted by
Susan Willis, MA from the Vitas organization. Susan recommends that six
months have passed since the experience of loss by participants.
For more information about these activities, or to register for the Bereavement
and Loss group, please call Janice at 455-6339.
